SAPA RICE

As a student in a Nigerian University, you must have experienced ‘sapa’. And when this happens the most important need at that moment is stomach satisfaction. According to Norman Lindsay, “… without food everything is rather less than nothing”, yes, we need food to focus however when ‘sapa’ hits we really do not have our options open to select from a variety of food our stomach wants. But guess what Sapa rice has been saving lives since forever. To make this you only need to have these ingredients:

  1. 1 cup of Rice
  2. 2 table spoons of oil.
  3.  Curry powder
  4. Seasoning cubes
  5. Salt
  6. Pepper
  7. 1 small onion bulb.
  8. Egg or Kpanla fish or Nothing (Optional, depending on your sapa level)

STEPS FOR PREPARATION

STEP 1

Have the ingredients!!!!!

STEP 2

Wash your rice

STEP 3

Add your oil and fry your onion, pepper, curry and seasoning cubes on low heat.

STEP 4

Add your rice to your ‘sapa’ stir fry and fry. Mix well.

STEP 5

Add salt to taste.

STEP 6

Add plenty water. (This will make the rice plenty).

N.B Taste your rice to know if it is tasty

STEP 7

Drop your egg or fish inside the mix to cook. (You can’t afford to waste gas or kerosene).

Once you confirm that the rice is done, turn off the heat, leave to stand for 5 minutes. Then stir and it is ready to be served!
