Archaeologists and anthropologists in the making departed the department on Monday 21st 2019 for the annual fieldwork exercise for the 2019/2020 session. The idea was borne out of the need for student’ to experience all what they’re being taught in class right on the field. Experience they say is the best teacher.

Female genital mutilation is the violation of a female or the girl child. The ‘Campus Storm’ edition was a gathering of well-meaning individuals to learn, unlearn and educate oneself on the subject matter Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The event which was organized by Junior Chamber International, UI chapter, in partnership with VARCE, EVA, UN, UNICEF, and other organisations was an avenue for students’ to learn more about the reality an dangers of this awful practice, hence, so change can be made.

EFCC TO GO CLAMPDOWN ON DOCTORS WHO WRITE FAKE MEDICAL REPORT

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has said she will begin to prosecute doctors that write fake medical reports for persons undergoing trial for corruption. He said this during a press conference in Abuja on Friday. According to him, the commission would henceforth “arrest and prosecute medical practitioners who provide fake medical reports to persons facing trial for corruption.”

FG TO CLOSE SUB-STANDARD “MUSHROOM” SCHOOLS

In order to salvage the educational system from the elementary level, federal government has decided to close sub-standard secondary schools. In the release by Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Minister of State for Education, he said that the Federal Government would form a synergy with states and local governments toward closing down secondary schools found to be sub-standard.
