Engaging in politics has always been considered a dirty game by many people and for many reasons, one can only take a clue as to why people think it is a dirty game. Will you consider school/college/university politics a dirty game?

The intricacies surrounding why it is considered dirty should be looked into this will only give more credence to why it should or should not be tagged ‘dirty’. It is only right that leadership continues and it should be worth emulating by those coming after. The role of a leader is enormous, one can only tell of a good and selfless leader in the way and manner the student association affairs are managed.

In the words of Warren Bennis, “Leadership is that capacity to translate vision into reality”. Hence, leadership or being a leader is not about the title but what you as a leader can do. What vision has team transformation got?, What is team transformation going to do better? What is team transformation set out goals that will be worth emulating by those coming after?

AASAITES have experienced a week-long political activity they went to the polls, they already cast their votes and also elected the new Students’ executive members. AASA 2020/2021 elections saw; EDEGBAI PROMISE elected as President, FALOKUN FAVOUR elected as Vice-president, ALONGE MARY elected as General Secretary, ODIGIE MARVELOUS elected as Sports Director, OLAITAN OLUWATIMILEHIN elected as Social Director, BELLO ADEDOYIN FAVOUR elected as Assistant Social Director, TIAMIYU OLUWASEUN FAVOUR elected as Public Relations Officer, and AKINLOYE JANET WURAOLA elected as Treasurer.

These individuals have decided to make continuity in leadership and have decided to bring the ideas and goals of an association like ours to life.
This is a crucial time in our political history, a new administration has emerged and as such a time to rewrite history and lead the students’ association the best way possible. It is only right to say that the students’ association has turned a new leaf, it is a start over and a change for the better.

Emerging a victor in any political race isn’t just about blowing “uncertain trumpet” as Theodore Hesburgh rightly pointed out “it’s got to be a vision you articulate clearly and forcefully on every occasion.” For the newly elected executive members to have emerged winners there was a vision AASAITES saw, they articulated this vision and voted. To the newly elected, this vision shouldn’t go weary nor falter — this vision should be the torch of knowledge that illuminates light. Guiding and directing your path throughout your administration. This vision is what should guide and direct your path in the course of leading AASAITES and AASA as an association.
